Piper and Mark met unexpectedly in a Las Vegas Airport. Due to the good fortunes of a delayed flight, Piper met a tall and very handsome man who smiled and said, “Nice sunglasses!” Mark and Piper talked and laughed, and before being whisked away, they exchanged phone numbers. Piper puts it simply: “The good friend I made in the airport that day, was now something much, much more.”

Piper shared with friends that if she wasn’t married by thirty, she’d have a fabulous birthday party instead! The unexpected happened as Mark got down on one knee, with a ring box in hand, and said, “I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to do this, and this seems like the time. I love you. Will you marry me?” Piper, completely surprised, accepted.

Piper and Mark were married on the sand at sunset, which Piper describes as, “very magical and enchanting!” The Royal Plantation Resort is Jamaica’s very own version of heaven on earth! The glowing bride wore an Amy Michelson gown, paired with Christian Loubuiton shoes, all acquired from Mon Amie Bridal Salon. The bride’s bouquet incorporated a vintage locket which held a picture of her dad. Bridesmaids wore Maggie London champagne-colored dresses from Nordstrom. The groom wore an ivory-colored three-piece suit from Men’s Wearhouse, and the groomsmen were clad in ivory-colored suits with a different color tie than the groom.
The décor of the wedding honored the natural elements of the earth, which included sand, shells and tropical foliage mixed with illumination, glitz, and embellishments. The couple wanted to incorporate the amenities of the lush seaside destination, so a candlelight chandelier hung gracefully from a tree along with all other lighting as illuminating candles. The theme for their special day was beach-casual-meets-glamour. The reception included beautiful Mother of Pearl mirrored trays on each table, which was akin to a treasure chest full of sand, shells, crystals and messages in a bottle. The food festivities included salad and soup, while the main entrée was Lobster Thermador and Pork Tenderloin with Saffron rice and vegetables. For dessert, guests celebrated with a Jamaican Rum Cake. The Royal Plantation Resort assisted with all of these fabulous services.

The newlyweds spent time together at Turks & Caico’s at the Regent Palms for six days known as the world’s most beautiful beaches dedicated to preserving the islands’ natural beauty.
