A diamond that is so perfectly cut that it has all the classic elements of a diamond’s beauty—brilliance, dispersion and scintillation. A diamond that sparkles like a red-hot fire. A Hearts On Fire diamond.

panacea event floral design

panacea event floral design, owner Corinne Smith, has virtually grown up amongst flowers; her favorite form of living color. Her beloved childhood memories, while growing up in Canada, included playing hopscotch through her grandmother’s purple and yellow Johnny-Jump-Ups and playing hide-and-seek in the Lavender Lilac Bushes. This passion for flowers continued as she grew older where she worked for a friend’s flower shop, and later, Corinne’s career blossomed as friends sought-after her to create their floral arrangements for their weddings.

Although it seemed obvious to others that she had found her true calling, she admitted to us that she “still didn’t get it,” she says.  So, rather than immediately turning her beloved hobby and dreams of colorful fields of flowers into a business, she completed a degree in marketing and worked in this field for nearly 12 years.

During this lengthy time within the marketing industry, Corinne found this choice of career unfulfilling, “I desperately wanted to find an avenue for expressing my creativity,” she told us. concludes. And eventually, she did just that by turning her dreams into a reality. “One day I simply decided that flowers were my savior; thus the name panacea which means

a solution for all, and I started from home with nothing.” But that nothing quickly became something, “Before I knew it, I was busier than I could imagine and I was so in love with my work,” Corinne

Corinne has loved and lived in the midst of colorful flowers all of her life, she says, “I literally dream in color, and texture too! I am energized by color and nature. This is what really gets me going.” She is also inspired by reading magazines and expressed travel, fashion, and food are her staples.  “Truly, they all translate into what is happening and interesting in both, floral and event design, right now.”

Corinne explained that she is in awe of the purity of a single bloom. “I feel so blessed that I get to touch, smell, and play in this wonderland of live beauty.” She shared with us about one of her most notable wonderland experiences, studying floral design in Paris. “In 2005, I was able to travel to Paris for eight days,” she explained, “and I took a private design class at La Belle Ecole – dreamy!” From this trip, Corinne wrote an article, Paris Flowers, which was published in Your Wedding Day magazine, and can be read online today at yourweddingday.com. She also adds, “I’m more than ready to go again, and find an even deeper new inspiration.”

Actually, Corinne finds inspiration everywhere, including in a couple’s vision of their day.  “Every wedding is a new story for us and that’s what keeps our creative juices flowing: new color combinations, new themes infused with personality.”

Here at YWD, we know you’ll find yourself being inspired by Corinne’s creativity and passion. Corinne shares, “I have an unlimited supply of ideas and people love that. If we don’t have what you need, we’ll get it.”  panacea event floral design services including floral and décor design including a vast range of props, containers, candelabras, lighting, linens, and lounge furniture.  Their home territory includes San Jose to San Bernardino, but particularly, Corinne’s true home base in San Luis Obispo County on the Central Coast.  “We love the Central Coast,” she said, “and all that it has to offer in terms of the wide range of wedding venues.”

When we asked Corinne what she loves the most, her response was no surprise: Color!  She added that although she doesn’t wear a lot of color, she loves being surrounded by it, including the bright walls in her home. “Color is energy,” she said, “and I just couldn’t live without it!”

With Corinne, you won’t have to live without color either, and she has an unlimited supply of those dreams of hers. Let her share with you, too, your dream for a colorful wedding experience.

  • #16 COMFORTABLE RECEPTIONS
Reception spaces are taking on a comfort theme nowadays. Rather than using cocktail tables alone, couples are creating a lounge effect in their reception areas by adding cozy furniture groupings of sofas and coffee tables, along with tenting and draping, lamps and lanterns, lit up trees and dozens of candles. You may want to hire a jazz quartet or flamenco trio to create a sultry ambiance.  Some couples are even hiring cigar rollers!  You can also use this set-up outdoors for a living room beneath the stars!

  • #11 QUICK FIX
Traveling with an emergency kit is like the American Express campaign, “Don’t leave home without it.” It should have everything from panty hose and nail glue to smelling salts and Tums, but the most commonly used item is SAFETY PINS!  Although you should have a needle and thread, I have resorted to using safety pins for fixing hems on tuxedos, bustling the brides gown, pinning broken bra straps and creating a veil or headpiece out of tulle when the bride’s was left at home.  Safety pins are great for a “quick fix.”

  • # 1 - LOUNGING ANYWHERE
Wonder what to do to a resort ballroom to make it more interesting and intimate?  You can create individual lounge areas by renting tents of sheer flowing fabric and adding sofas and coffee tables with lots of candlelight in them.  You’ve suddenly created that romantic lounge atmosphere in a standard ballroom and given it more intimacy.  Your guests can move to different “rooms” during the cocktails hour or or they can dance the night away.
