Things We Love
  • ywd_heartsonfire_intro.jpgAny diamond will carry a romantic message to a beloved bride, but only one will set her heart on fire. A diamond that is so perfectly cut that it has all the classic elements of a diamond’s beauty—brilliance, dispersion and scintillation. A diamond that sparkles like a red-hot fire. A Hearts On Fire diamond.

Sun-Dance Photography

Blendi, co-founded Sun-Dance Photography nearly a dozen years ago after receiving her degree in photography. Prior to that time, she was as well-known and respected as she is now, but on the other side of the camera as a high-fashion model in Los Angels for ten years.

When her partner in Sun-Dance decided that raising small children and running a couture photography business was just too much, Blendi took over and further developed Sun-Dance Photography into the highly respected business it is today; a business well-known for possessing the best collective of photographers who shoot fine art, high-fashion quality photography. This is a business that generates a great deal of praise by brides and grooms, who are looking (just like you!) for a more imaginative and creative photographic representation of their wedding day.

With the use of bright colors, unique filters, and fresh angles, there is no doubt that Blendi and her team’s imagination and creativity, produce work “outside the box.” She shares that what inspires them most is experiencing the bride and groom’s response when they view their images for the first time, “It’s simply magical seeing a bride and groom so happy,” she said.

In addition to making couples happy, Blendi and the crew enjoy traveling and taking photos; they are inspired by light, lines, and color in every day life. Sun-Dance Photography loves to create and explore, achieving something exciting, beautiful, and different with the camera. To summarize all that they find enjoyable, Blendi says it best, “I just love life!”

With Blendi leading the collective group of Sun-Dance, Blendi ensures that their brides and grooms are the stars at their own wedding. Her many talents as a photographer and her expertise in the fashion business, have merged years of experience, enabling her to create something very special. But she is far from just a top-of-the-line genius with an edgy, sophisticated, highly artistic style with a camera; she is also a capable director that guides her team, pulling out the finest star qualities in every bride and groom, and their wedding.

But making every client feel like a star is really not much of a challenge for Blendi and her team, because she has accrued numerous actual movies stars and celebrities among her clientele over the years including Wild Things 2’s Susan Ward, Nip/Tuck’s Jessalyn Gilsig, singer Marko of Sugarcult, and many other celebrities, writers, and producers.

Attesting to Blendi’s talent, one wedding magazine editor (whom we just happen to know!), had this to say, “Blendi is definitely one of the finest shooters out there. Wherever I'm in search of great images, I can always count on going to the Sun-Dance’s folder and pulling any number of fabulous images,” shares Thea Lignos-Hargrove, Editor in Chief of Your Wedding Day

This is no doubt, one of the many reason as to why Sun-Dance Photography is so well loved, which Blendi reveals as one of their noteworthy accomplishments, “Sun-Dance weddings are always published!” In addition to this worthy achievement, Blendi, with her great sense of humor discloses, “Another proud accomplishment is I can do a cartwheel!” We think you can see why brides, grooms, editors, and wedding vendors alike say that working with Blendi and the Sun-Dance collective is ever so rewarding, and so much fun!

For your own celebrity wedding, staring you, whether it is local or a destination wedding, Blendi and the team of Sun-dance Photography is always there for you!

  • # 6  RECIPES FOR FAVORS
Gather together the favorite recipes that you remember as a child. They could be special family recipes, holiday menus, etc.  Have them bound in small books, affix a wedding label on the front with your monogram and date that you were married. And there you have it, a unique favor that your guests will use again and again. Also, it is a wonderful way to acknowledge grandmothers and mothers.

  • #31 FLORAL DECOR
No wedding is complete without flowers. Try updating the traditional centerpiece by using masses of your favorite flowers in a variety of complementary tones for added texture and interest. For instance, if your bloom-of-choice is the gerbera daisy, try one centerpiece with dozens of red gerberas, another with orange, and another with fuchsia-colored bunches. Let your imagination run wild!

  • #16 COMFORTABLE RECEPTIONS
Reception spaces are taking on a comfort theme nowadays. Rather than using cocktail tables alone, couples are creating a lounge effect in their reception areas by adding cozy furniture groupings of sofas and coffee tables, along with tenting and draping, lamps and lanterns, lit up trees and dozens of candles. You may want to hire a jazz quartet or flamenco trio to create a sultry ambiance.  Some couples are even hiring cigar rollers!  You can also use this set-up outdoors for a living room beneath the stars!
