A diamond that is so perfectly cut that it has all the classic elements of a diamond’s beauty—brilliance, dispersion and scintillation. A diamond that sparkles like a red-hot fire. High-End Photography in a Cute Box:
Sarah DiCicco Photography

Photography runs through Sarah DiCicco’s blood. Art, in all forms, is well entrenched within her upbringing, as much a part of her heritage as anything else.

Her grandmother was an art teacher and watercolor artist, her father and sister are musicians; but it was her great-uncle who really shaped her career path. His stories and photos telling of his journeys around the world as a National Geographic photographer helped to set the stage for what would ultimately become Sarah DiCicco Photography – an international boutique wedding photography studio.

Based in Philadelphia, DiCicco travels to New York and Los Angeles shooting her photojournalistic weddings, with destination weddings proving to be her specialty.

DiCicco’s photography has taken her across the United States, to Mexico and the West Indies (to name just a few), where she shoots her “first edition prints” in an editorial style.

“I call my proofs ‘first edition prints’ because of all the retouching I do,” said DiCicco. She can spend up to 80 hours retouching proofs after the initial shoot, ensuring her clients the most professional-looking and satisfying result.

“People hate being nickel and dimed and just want to know what it’s going to cost and be done with it,” she said. Therefore, DiCicco includes retouching in her base price along with all day-of shooting, a second photographer and unlimited images. She does not charge hourly for her work or incorporate complicated packages. “I just don’t want my brides to worry about that on their day,” she continued.

What DiCicco does offer is a unique, fresh perspective and innovative ways to view her finished product. “I tend to shoot off the cuff,” she said. “I don’t like to plan heavily. I think the best images just show themselves. Sometimes if you look too hard, you put blinders on and miss what’s in the moment.”

DiCicco also offers an unprecedented service – the Wedding Movie Premiere – a movie, presented in an actual theater, replete with popcorn and refreshments, compiled of 600-800 images overlaid with music and one-on-one interviews with the couple’s immediate family. It’s an elevated form of the typical wedding video, brought to a level of professionalism that rivals any big budget production. “We do a majority of destination weddings where not everyone can attend,” she said. “This is a nice way to relive everything after the wedding and helps everyone to feel like they were there a little bit more and feel a little bit more included.”

Ultimately, however, DiCicco offers photography that is unparalleled. “I love what I do. I call myself a boutique photography studio because I get to know my clients so well before the wedding. When my clients call, they get me.”

DiCicco restricts her number of clients per year in order to ensure this close relationship and due to the man hours necessary to provide images meeting the highest of standards. After all, “My clients want high-end packaged in a cute box.”

Tips
  • # 6  RECIPES FOR FAVORS
Gather together the favorite recipes that you remember as a child. They could be special family recipes, holiday menus, etc.  Have them bound in small books, affix a wedding label on the front with your monogram and date that you were married. And there you have it, a unique favor that your guests will use again and again. Also, it is a wonderful way to acknowledge grandmothers and mothers.

  • #31 FLORAL DECOR
No wedding is complete without flowers. Try updating the traditional centerpiece by using masses of your favorite flowers in a variety of complementary tones for added texture and interest. For instance, if your bloom-of-choice is the gerbera daisy, try one centerpiece with dozens of red gerberas, another with orange, and another with fuchsia-colored bunches. Let your imagination run wild!

  • #16 COMFORTABLE RECEPTIONS
Reception spaces are taking on a comfort theme nowadays. Rather than using cocktail tables alone, couples are creating a lounge effect in their reception areas by adding cozy furniture groupings of sofas and coffee tables, along with tenting and draping, lamps and lanterns, lit up trees and dozens of candles. You may want to hire a jazz quartet or flamenco trio to create a sultry ambiance.  Some couples are even hiring cigar rollers!  You can also use this set-up outdoors for a living room beneath the stars!
