Linda Pittelli is the designer and founder of Eventful , a wedding and event design, production and planning company. Before Eventful she was a costume designer and set decorator in the film industry, where she spent 15-years transforming locations, sets, and actors into camera-worthy subjects. When she became engaged, she decided to apply her professional skills to designing her own wedding. The result? A resounding “Wow,” Linda tells Your Wedding Day. “Our guests were blown away.” The setting was an eleventh century villa overlooking Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Linda says, “Everyone who attended told us they had never seen anything like it. “Even to this day our guests still talk about our wedding,.”
But when it was over, Linda recalls, that there was a sense of sadness
which she refers to as ‘post production blues.’ “All I could think of
was, when we can do it again. Then it hit me! Why not five or ten times
a year! For brides and grooms. Or for that matter, anyone looking to
create something special!”

This seemed like a natural progression as Linda went on to explain that for years she’d felt that working in film was becoming less and less rewarding. So with not as much as a glance backward, she took what she says was “the second most important plunge” of her life, the creation of Eventful Designing, a full design and production company, designing all aspects of an event from the invitations and florals, to custom linens. “Anything that will be part of your wedding day or your event falls into our domain,” Linda says. “Everything I had accomplished in fashion, costume design, interior design, film production and budgeting, I put into creating magical weddings and special events.”
When asked what inspires her, Linda says “Life!... And everything about it, inspires me! I find inspiration in nature, books, fashion, words, songs, people, their collections and stories, what they had for dinner. I love to design and create… so when that can be combined with making special unforgettable memories for people, nothing can make me happier. The sound of laughter, a tear of joy, delight in delicious morsels, a gasp at the sight of fabulous embellishments, lets them know that every detail was thought about to pamper them and give them the ultimate experience…. It makes me happy!”
“In Seeing a book of our work. A recommendation from a friend. The ability to listen, understand and artfully interpret her client’s vision and turn it into a fantastic environment, gives a bride and groom a sense of who we are. That coupled with our staff, trust in our taste level and the attention to detail and probably most important… chemistry is what solidifies and helps the relationship grow. When you realize you’ll be spending six months to a year with someone, you’d better enjoy their company and believe they will guide you through and help minimize some of those stressful times ahead.”
Among Linda’s many, many successes and accomplishments, she considers one of her most important to be the recognition she’s received from peers and other event industry professionals. “I’m amazed that after just a few years in the business I have been asked to speak at important industry events and featured in many of the industry’s top magazines.”
But that’s not the reason she does what she does. “It is to hear a bride and groom and even their guests tell me that I created an experience and memories they will never forget. It may only exist for just one night in reality, but clients will attest that in memory, the event will last forever. ” She goes on to say” It makes me happy that the majority of them have all become dear friends.”
Those dear friends are found worldwide. “We’ve worked in California, New York, New England, Florida, Italy, and Mexico” Linda says. “There are no borders or limitations; we go where the event takes us. If we can get there, we can make it happen .”

#16 COMFORTABLE RECEPTIONS
Reception spaces are taking on a comfort
theme nowadays. Rather than using cocktail tables alone, couples are
creating a lounge effect in their reception areas by adding cozy
furniture groupings of sofas and coffee tables, along with tenting and
draping, lamps and lanterns, lit up trees and dozens of candles. You
may want to hire a jazz quartet or flamenco trio to create a sultry
ambiance. Some couples are even hiring cigar rollers! You can also
use this set-up outdoors for a living room beneath the stars!

#11 QUICK FIX
Traveling with an emergency kit is like the American Express campaign, “Don’t leave home without it.” It should have everything from panty hose and nail glue to smelling salts and Tums, but the most commonly used item is SAFETY PINS! Although you should have a needle and thread, I have resorted to using safety pins for fixing hems on tuxedos, bustling the brides gown, pinning broken bra straps and creating a veil or headpiece out of tulle when the bride’s was left at home. Safety pins are great for a “quick fix.”

#31 FLORAL DECOR
No wedding is complete without flowers. Try updating the traditional
centerpiece by using masses of your favorite flowers in a variety of
complementary tones for added texture and interest. For instance, if
your bloom-of-choice is the gerbera daisy, try one centerpiece with
dozens of red gerberas, another with orange, and another with
fuchsia-colored bunches. Let your imagination run wild!
