Any diamond will carry a romantic message to a beloved bride, but only one will set her heart on fire. A diamond that is so perfectly cut that it has all the classic elements of a diamond’s beauty—brilliance, dispersion and scintillation. A diamond that sparkles like a red-hot fire. A Hearts On Fire diamond.

| Juliet Douglas, owner of Green Orchid Events, shares with Your Wedding Day magazine, “For years, I’d been on the other side of the event business, as a singer in the entertainment industry.” Aspiring to become a recording artist, Juliet attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to study music while also singing in a production show called the “Las Vegas Lounge Show.” In spite of being honored with a scholarship towards her music major, she ventured towards another career path. | | | “I decided to major in Hotel Administration at one of the best hotel schools in the nation,” she conveyed, “where I focused my attention towards eventually becoming an Entertainment Director in a hotel.” Unbeknownst to Juliet, the field of study for Entertainment Director would propel her into the diverse world of special events. “My capstone course involved a luncheon where Sharon Sacks of Sacks Productions spoke as our keynote speaker. Following this luncheon, I was hooked and knew I wanted to be in special events,” shares Juliet.
Putting her “starving musician” days behind her, she acquired her first job, in Special Events as a wedding coordinator at Mandalay Bay. After working in the food and beverage industry for hotels such as the Wynn and Four Seasons, she decided it was time to launch her own company. “I studied Wedding Coordination and Design through The International School of Hospitality,” she continues, “as well as received my designation as Professional Bridal Consultant™ through ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants).”
This career has worked out perfectly for the former musician, “I am able to be creative while also being able to help couples plan the wedding of their dreams,” states Juliet. With plenty of opportunity to be creative, Green Orchid Events features Full Wedding and Event Design, Planning, and Coordination as well as Wedding Day Coordination; each of which require a different level of creativity and skill. Green Orchid Events also provides Partial Planning and Consultation, A-la-Carte or Concierge Services to include anything from restaurant or spa reservations, addressing invitations, all the way to arranging and delivering gift baskets. Juliet discloses that with Green Orchid Events’ collection of unique and beautiful apothecary jars, containers, and scoops, their couples can easily include candy buffets of cookies, popcorn, and other specialty items. In addition to these details, Green Orchid Events also offers a line of invitations and wedding favors through Jean M, Minted, Wedding Paper Divas, Beaucoup, and Carlson Craft. Juliet reveals one reason their brides and grooms enjoy working with Green Orchid Events is because of their personalized attention and detail. This is due in part to Juliet’s well-rounded background. “With a background in entertainment, hospitality, food and beverage, and of course, special events and weddings,” Juliet explained, “I’m able to not only assist couples in décor and floral, but I am also able to offer tips on menu selections.” And, of course, she can assist you with selecting just the perfect music and musicians!
Juliet shares that in particular, she believes their couples feel especially comfortable with Green Orchid Events because they assert that each bride and groom feel exclusively taken care of. “I want our couples to be able to tell me anything and everything about their wedding day,” Juliet continues, “I love it when a couple is happy with their wedding day and know that because of us, they are able to sit back, relax, and enjoy their wedding day. The smile on their faces is worth all the hard work!”
Seeing their couples’ events come together awards Juliet the same “exhilaration” she felt when she was singing; with all of the hard work, practicing, and rehearsing, the time and attention always results in a very good show.
Green Orchid Events’ goal for you is a very “good show” too, whether your wedding is in Las Vegas, Southern California, or in San Francisco. The combination of their many talents planning your wedding, from entertainment, to food and beverage, to wedding coordination and design, they will have you singing Green Orchid Events’ praise.

# 6 RECIPES FOR FAVORS
Gather together the favorite recipes that you remember as a child. They could be special family recipes, holiday menus, etc. Have them bound in small books, affix a wedding label on the front with your monogram and date that you were married. And there you have it, a unique favor that your guests will use again and again. Also, it is a wonderful way to acknowledge grandmothers and mothers.

#26 MARRYING MINDFULLY
Creating the “perfect wedding” can easily overshadow what is really
important about getting married—creating a sacred and lifelong bond
with your beloved. Your wedding is not a “to-do” list. Take time to
tend to your relationship and to yourselves so that you enter into the
celebration relaxed, joyful, and with a full heart.

#11 QUICK FIX
Traveling with an emergency kit is like the American Express campaign, “Don’t leave home without it.” It should have everything from panty hose and nail glue to smelling salts and Tums, but the most commonly used item is SAFETY PINS! Although you should have a needle and thread, I have resorted to using safety pins for fixing hems on tuxedos, bustling the brides gown, pinning broken bra straps and creating a veil or headpiece out of tulle when the bride’s was left at home. Safety pins are great for a “quick fix.”
