Creativity Reigns Supreme
With Gourmet Invitations
Vintage records, recreated library materials, long forgotten love poems… each may seem obscure when associated with your wedding day, but each make for a lovely invitation – just ask Tifany Wunschl.
Wunschl is the new era guru of creative invites with her venture, Gourmet Invitations. Her invites are not just a disposable placeholder for an event to come
but rather they are beacons to announce an

unforgettable soiree, a
keepsake of the day’s events. Wait until you see them. Some are more traditional – damask designs, letter press personalized logos or a groom’s love poem to his bride – while some get über creative using materials such as vintage 45 records, recreated concert tickets or materials from common, everyday sources like your local public library. It is a fact: Wunschl is an expert when it comes to incorporating your personal wedding style in creative and innovative ways.
“I always laugh because everyone always asks me how I come up with these ideas, and really, I have no idea,” said Wunschl. “I just always try to do something completely unexpected.”
After designing invites for weddings and events based on word-of-mouth, Gourmet Invitations success evolved organically. From one referral to the next, her invites grew more sophisticated, more unique and entirely more creative. Now, Wunschl finds her business the recipient of multiple local and national commendations from the title of “Best Invitations” for three years running thanks to her local NBC affiliate, to mentions on websites such as Style Me Pretty or Brides.com.
Her secret to a gorgeous invitation, she said, is excellent communication.
“I have a really good communication process with the bride,” said Wunschl. “I always ask them to tell me the one thing about their wedding they love or the story about how they met… something to jump start the process.”
From there, Wunschl designs all the paper (and sometimes non-traditional surfaces as well) products you could need from the invites, of course, to RSVP cards, menus, directions and hotel information or reception invitations, even bumper stickers and ties, “little things to bring the unexpected.” Once Wunschl even made custom golf tees for a wedding at a country club. To say Wunschl is gifted at fleshing out that one unique element that will set your wedding invitation apart from the rest is an understatement.
“The invitation is a guest’s first impression,” said Wunschl. “That first impression should always be special, memorable. It should give guests something to look forward to.”
And perhaps even a keepsake of your wedding day.
“I got an email recently from a (recipient of a Gourmet Invitation custom invite) who had saved the invitation from over a year ago,” explained Wunschl of her 100% handmade invitations. “I get that all the time – people save them. Even men save them! Why spend a lot of money on invitations when you just throw them away? With custom invitations, people hold on to them.”

# 1 - LOUNGING ANYWHERE
Wonder what to do to a resort ballroom to make it more interesting and intimate? You can create individual lounge areas by renting tents of sheer flowing fabric and adding sofas and coffee tables with lots of candlelight in them. You’ve suddenly created that romantic lounge atmosphere in a standard ballroom and given it more intimacy. Your guests can move to different “rooms” during the cocktails hour or or they can dance the night away. Jill La Fleur, The Wedding Planner

#21 LA FLEUR TABLE
Cover your entire table top with a single bold color of petals. Not
just a scattering, but the entire top of the table with a thick layer
of petals! You can purchase them at a farmers market or order them
through your florist. Place your chargers, place settings, glassware
and centerpieces in a contrasting color and lots of candles directly
onto the petals for a stunning, romantic look!

#26 MARRYING MINDFULLY
Creating the “perfect wedding” can easily overshadow what is really
important about getting married—creating a sacred and lifelong bond
with your beloved. Your wedding is not a “to-do” list. Take time to
tend to your relationship and to yourselves so that you enter into the
celebration relaxed, joyful, and with a full heart.
