Nikki was producing special events for nonprofit organizations on a volunteer basis, and was then hired to do events for an event production company. After a year, she started her own company, Exquisite Events, in 2001. She shares, “What I loves most about producing events is working on a blank canvas to transform places into magical spaces.” She feels most successful when her clients walk in and cry with joy when they see their dreams taken beyond their imagination and brought to reality.
In producing those special days, Nikki finds herself inspired by
nature, fashion, color trends, and people. “I am passionate about
creating memorable events and my inspiration comes from clients who
come to me with no clear-cut vision and trust me implicitly to give
them an event that is unparallel in details and execution.”

Nikki says, in fact, it is “Details, Details and Details!” that
distinguishes her and Exquisite Events. “I am very particular about
staying within the couple’s budget by constantly reprioritizing and
making adjustments as we go along.
I also make sure my couples are very comfortable with me since I truly
feel they are entrusting us with the most special day of their lives
and I hold it very sacred. I also assure my couples that I will be
their main contact person starting from the time we book the wedding,
leading up to the day of the event.”
These are not the only reasons couples call Nikki and Exquisite Events when it is time to begin making their wedding plans. “Trust!” Nikki says. “Knowing I am going to go above and beyond the call of duty. Knowing they can call me from 8am to 10pm every single day (except when I am away doing events), and knowing in the end, I will bring their vision into fruition.”
To do so, Exquisite Events offers two wedding packages; one Nikki refers to as “A to Z,” which is all inclusive. “The other one,” she explains, “is where the client has picked a few vendors and needs help with the others.” Her staff also manages day-of-the-event festivities too.
Nikki’s focus with her weddings has been Southern California, mainly the Palm Springs and San Diego areas, but honoring client requests, she is now expanding to other areas including San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Houston. “I would love to expand to all States,” she says, “while continuing producing weddings close by.”
In spite of her great success within producing couples’ dreams, Nikki has never forgotten the important part of her life that brought her to weddings, nonprofits events. Including one recent event staged on a Universal Studios lot to benefit an organization opening schools in remote areas of Pakistan, Nikki made sure guests, including numerous members of the United Nations, enjoyed themselves by presenting a couture fashion show from famous Pakistani Designer, a Silent and Live Auction, and a musical event, ‘Rock the Casbah.’ “But most importantly,” Nikki says, “at the end of the evening, we were able to raise a lot of money.” She adds, “I definitely feel every minute, hour, day, week, and month that was spent on the project was well worth it.”
Nikki feels the same way about your wedding. “I realize how lucky I am to be in this business and how much I love it and how worthwhile it is to give someone a day that they will never forget.”

#31 FLORAL DECOR
No wedding is complete without flowers. Try updating the traditional
centerpiece by using masses of your favorite flowers in a variety of
complementary tones for added texture and interest. For instance, if
your bloom-of-choice is the gerbera daisy, try one centerpiece with
dozens of red gerberas, another with orange, and another with
fuchsia-colored bunches. Let your imagination run wild!

# 6 RECIPES FOR FAVORS
Gather together the favorite recipes that you remember as a child. They could be special family recipes, holiday menus, etc. Have them bound in small books, affix a wedding label on the front with your monogram and date that you were married. And there you have it, a unique favor that your guests will use again and again. Also, it is a wonderful way to acknowledge grandmothers and mothers.

#11 QUICK FIX
Traveling with an emergency kit is like the American Express campaign, “Don’t leave home without it.” It should have everything from panty hose and nail glue to smelling salts and Tums, but the most commonly used item is SAFETY PINS! Although you should have a needle and thread, I have resorted to using safety pins for fixing hems on tuxedos, bustling the brides gown, pinning broken bra straps and creating a veil or headpiece out of tulle when the bride’s was left at home. Safety pins are great for a “quick fix.”
