Enchanted Florist

Nisie Vorachard’s personal history leading her to floral design involved “designing,” but not designing exquisite floral as she does now. Rather, Nisie was a designer of an exquisite fashion line.  She began designing fashion at the early age of 19 years old, and owned her own fashion design company for ten years before merging into floral design. “I had always loved flowers and grew up on an orchid farm in Thailand,” she says, “and I thought that would be a great transition.”

Nisie told us here at YWD (we’re some of her biggest fans!)  that at first, her eventual career in floral design was more like a hobby. “It was for fun and to keep busy,” she explains. But then, when she began creating the florals for her friends’ weddings and small parties, year-by-year her “hobby” kept expanding, and eventually, a dozen years ago, her official business, Enchanted Florist, burst into bloom!

Ironically, one of the most important reasons for her rapid success is Nisie’s attention to the popular trends. “We are not a company that follows trends,” she explains, “rather, we’re the company that helps create them!”  She says most of her clients seek her out for that very reason, for her innovative ideas which frequently become the trend-setters in which others follow. They want the newness, the difference which she can provide. “Our clients like us to be very creative,” she says.

Nisie considers her abilities and creativity to be second nature, and she attributes much of her natural talents to . . . well, nature! “We use lots of organic materials,” she told us. “Every bride is different and that keeps you from doing the same thing all the time, with the ability to change and create different moods with floral creation.”

Among those who enjoy her creative floral is a long roster of impressive clientele such as professional baseball and football athletes, Olympic track stars, NASCAR drivers, and rock stars too.

These clients, and Nisie’s others also enjoy another facet of Enchanted Florist, the retail end of their business. At her clients’ request, she opened a Specialty Retail division several years ago. The Enchanted Florist floral boutique is truly an enchanted forest, featuring an indoor garden were you can view a wooded-like display of fresh floral arrangements mixed in with unique organics. There are also topiaries, wreaths, urns, and garden appointments, scented candles, and essential oils. This boutique also features the popular “Designer’s Choice” whereby the Enchanted Florist design team will create a truly unique, one-of-a-kind floral piece especially designed just for your special occasion.

Nisie’s Orange County-based territory is focused on Southern California from San Diego through Santa Barbara, but she will be pleased to work with you anywhere in the United States. Regarding international weddings, however, Nisie respectfully declines and with a very good reason behind her response.  She says the main goal for Enchanted Florist is to hold her business to a size that will allow her to continue the personal hands-on attention to your wedding for which she has become famous. Nisie wants to personally be along with you though the entire process, right through to your wedding day.

Tips
  • #26 MARRYING MINDFULLY
Creating the “perfect wedding” can easily overshadow what is really important about getting married—creating a sacred and lifelong bond with your beloved. Your wedding is not a “to-do” list. Take time to tend to your relationship and to yourselves so that you enter into the celebration relaxed, joyful, and with a full heart.

  • # 6  RECIPES FOR FAVORS
Gather together the favorite recipes that you remember as a child. They could be special family recipes, holiday menus, etc.  Have them bound in small books, affix a wedding label on the front with your monogram and date that you were married. And there you have it, a unique favor that your guests will use again and again. Also, it is a wonderful way to acknowledge grandmothers and mothers.

  • #16 COMFORTABLE RECEPTIONS
Reception spaces are taking on a comfort theme nowadays. Rather than using cocktail tables alone, couples are creating a lounge effect in their reception areas by adding cozy furniture groupings of sofas and coffee tables, along with tenting and draping, lamps and lanterns, lit up trees and dozens of candles. You may want to hire a jazz quartet or flamenco trio to create a sultry ambiance.  Some couples are even hiring cigar rollers!  You can also use this set-up outdoors for a living room beneath the stars!
