Elegant Images Editorialized
By Elisa Cicinelli

Chances are, your wedding album will become one of your most treasured possessions – something that will invariably last throughout your lifetime, often visited and shared. It is only appropriate then that the photographer you choose represents your day in a manner that is special, unique and fitting to the individual. Perhaps your wedding is an intimate gathering best scrap booked, or perhaps it is an exceedingly elegant affair carefully planned

to look like it’s straight out of the pages of a magazine. In this case, Elisa Cicinelli Photography is a perfect choice. With a style that can only be described as “editorial,” Elisa Cicinelli takes more than just award-winning photos (she’s won multiple competitions across the country throughout her industry).

“I guess you could say I am an artist first,” said Cicinelli. “My work is very fine art. It has a very romantic, soft mood and elegant style.”  Using only a shallow depth of field and other techniques, Cicinelli achieves a feeling for each photo that is artful and fitting of the day.

Perhaps it’s her photojournalism background, shooting in locales such as India and Nepal that have helped her to hone her craft. Maybe it is her long education in the field (Cicinelli secured her MFA in photography and serves as an adjunct professor at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco). Or perhaps it is just her impeccable eye for detail and movement that allows her to so thoughtfully capture each bride.

“As an observer and documentarian of our American culture as it is today with the melding of traditions, I look at my work and the work of all us wedding photographers as something very important,” said Cicinelli. “I can’t wait for a retrospective of our work… I just might be the curator.”
This conscientious approach to her subjects keeps Cicinelli in tune with her couple, be it their wedding, rehearsal dinner, engagement photos, pregnancy images or family shoots (she does them all, of course).

Servicing the greater Bay Area region, surrounding wine country and down through Carmel, Cicinelli is looking to expand and will travel for any opportunity.

Her specialty, however, lies in shots that allow nature to hold a place.
“I love the romance, the feelings I capture in a moment,” she said. “I also love weddings that are in gardens. Nature just adds to my style. I don’t know what it is, but that’s when the magic happens.”
No matter your intimate moment, if elegance is what you seek, Elisa Cicinelli Photography is a worthy and artful option.

Tips
  • #31 FLORAL DECOR
No wedding is complete without flowers. Try updating the traditional centerpiece by using masses of your favorite flowers in a variety of complementary tones for added texture and interest. For instance, if your bloom-of-choice is the gerbera daisy, try one centerpiece with dozens of red gerberas, another with orange, and another with fuchsia-colored bunches. Let your imagination run wild!

  • # 6  RECIPES FOR FAVORS
Gather together the favorite recipes that you remember as a child. They could be special family recipes, holiday menus, etc.  Have them bound in small books, affix a wedding label on the front with your monogram and date that you were married. And there you have it, a unique favor that your guests will use again and again. Also, it is a wonderful way to acknowledge grandmothers and mothers.

  • # 1 - LOUNGING ANYWHERE
Wonder what to do to a resort ballroom to make it more interesting and intimate?  You can create individual lounge areas by renting tents of sheer flowing fabric and adding sofas and coffee tables with lots of candlelight in them.  You’ve suddenly created that romantic lounge atmosphere in a standard ballroom and given it more intimacy.  Your guests can move to different “rooms” during the cocktails hour or or they can dance the night away.
