Is That A Model? No, It’s The Bride! Dekker Photography captures picture perfect brides
Different brides require different attentions. Some are more traditional and some a little off the beaten path. Some are laid back while others are more involved. But regardless of your bridal style, one thing across the board remains true: each want to capture and preserve their memories to last a lifetime. It is because of this that the photographer you choose is so important. You trust your photographer to tell your story in a manner that
is appropriate for you.
The relationship you develop with your
photographer is intimate. They see your life like few are able. Perhaps
no one understands this tenuous relationship better than Beth Berman,
owner of San Francisco-based Dekker Photography.

Berman and her team will coax, tease and maneuver the bridal couple
until the perfect image is achieved. For Berman, that tends to lean
more towards an editorial, magazine-style look.
“For me, I love the dramatic feel of fashion photography,” said Berman.
“I really love the sexiness and the ‘wow’ factor. It’s that ‘eye
catchiness’ that I try to emulate. Her wedding is the day when a bride
looks the best ever, so I want to make them look like they stepped off
the cover of a magazine.”
To get this magazine-glam look, Berman's photography
is more personally enacted to ensure all the elements are in place for the best possible shot...and then she uses hundreds of clicks of the camera to make sure she has it. "Unlike the photojournalistic approach of shooting from the sidelines, I am there to help create the moment,” said Berman. “I am not a fly on the wall photographer. I do a lot of
interacting, a ton of posing.”
Berman will often use humor to attain the perfect shot from couples,
especially the groom, whom she finds tends to be less comfortable in
front of the camera. The gentle chiding, she said, helps to relax
couples and draw out the most genuine of reactions.
Another key asset of Dekker Photography are the painstaking albums
included in any bridal package. The albums, which can be organized in
the traditional sense or magazine-style and designed in-house, are a
key component of any wedding, said Berman.
“Taking a beautiful picture is only half of it,” said Berman. “If you
have all these images that just sit in a box or on your computer, it’s
a waste.” Dekker Photography will arrange for a post appointment that will detail the images and design of your custom album.
“I am not going to give the bride a box of 500 photos because they have
never done this before,” said Berman. “I have done hundreds of albums
so I have a great idea of what they need and how to prepare them.”
Ultimately, for the bride that is looking for cutting edge,
professional photos, Dekker Photography cannot be surpassed. From their
editorial-like images to their offerings to the most modern of photo
processes used, Dekker Photography is ideal for the non-traditional
client with a great sense of style.

# 6 RECIPES FOR FAVORS
Gather together the favorite recipes that you remember as a child. They could be special family recipes, holiday menus, etc. Have them bound in small books, affix a wedding label on the front with your monogram and date that you were married. And there you have it, a unique favor that your guests will use again and again. Also, it is a wonderful way to acknowledge grandmothers and mothers.

# 1 - LOUNGING ANYWHERE
Wonder what to do to a resort ballroom to make it more interesting and intimate? You can create individual lounge areas by renting tents of sheer flowing fabric and adding sofas and coffee tables with lots of candlelight in them. You’ve suddenly created that romantic lounge atmosphere in a standard ballroom and given it more intimacy. Your guests can move to different “rooms” during the cocktails hour or or they can dance the night away. Jill La Fleur, The Wedding Planner

#11 QUICK FIX
Traveling with an emergency kit is like the American Express campaign, “Don’t leave home without it.” It should have everything from panty hose and nail glue to smelling salts and Tums, but the most commonly used item is SAFETY PINS! Although you should have a needle and thread, I have resorted to using safety pins for fixing hems on tuxedos, bustling the brides gown, pinning broken bra straps and creating a veil or headpiece out of tulle when the bride’s was left at home. Safety pins are great for a “quick fix.”
