Your Wedding Day Resources
Celebration Cards

Pam Bloch, owner of CelebrationCards encourages you to consider that your wedding invitation is the first, most important component in planning the details of your wedding day. “It represents the first beautiful step to a couple’s day to remember,” shares Pam.

This first step is one Pam knows well; having turned to her own creative talents as a graphic designer, she designed the invitation for her own wedding in 1990.  “Having been a graphic designer for fifteen years,” she shares with Your Wedding Day, “finding the exact invitations for my wedding proved to be impossible. The solution, of course, was to take pen in hand, and design them myself.”

After twenty-five years in marketing and receiving an Emmy-nomination as a graphic designer for Entertainment Tonight, creating her own invitation just came naturally to her. In fact, it quickly became evident that a brand new business was developing. Pam states, “Once this path began, there was no turning back!”

In addition to her success within the graphic design world, acquiring accomplishments in the wedding industry came genuinely as well.

Her work has been featured in our very own, Your Wedding Day magazine, as well as Ceremony.  She has received a personal invitation to be featured on “Getting Married” hosted by leading entertaining expert, David Tutera, premiering on Lifetime Television.  But what Pam loves the most and is proudest of, is the opportunity of bringing such happiness to her brides.  “I love the thrill of making every bride feel special and her knowing that no one else has her distinctive invitation.”

It is somewhat ironic, though, that part of Pam’s success with creating the wonderful work she does, stems from boredom! “Being a designer,” she explained, “I get bored very easily. For me, the challenge is to come up with a new design, something completely different for each bride. Not just a different color, typeface, or a different colored ribbon, but a whole new look, a whole new approach for their wedding invitation. My goal is to never do the same invitation twice.”

In doing so, Pam shares with us a glimpse into this unique process for each couple. “We start by listening closely to what our client envisions their wedding to be, and then transform that dream into a stunning invitation ensemble.  We build an invitation design from scratch and create that dream invitation the bride has always imagined.”

CelebrationCards works closely with their clients to blend the perfect colors, textures, wording, printing process and style, which when combined, represent you and you personal wedding theme and philosophy. “We are truly custom,” Pam states, “we will even incorporate jewels, charms, and beads.” To view some of these extraordinarily designed paper expressions, please visit Pam’s website at www.celebrationcards.com.

Tips
  • #31 FLORAL DECOR
No wedding is complete without flowers. Try updating the traditional centerpiece by using masses of your favorite flowers in a variety of complementary tones for added texture and interest. For instance, if your bloom-of-choice is the gerbera daisy, try one centerpiece with dozens of red gerberas, another with orange, and another with fuchsia-colored bunches. Let your imagination run wild!

  • #11 QUICK FIX
Traveling with an emergency kit is like the American Express campaign, “Don’t leave home without it.” It should have everything from panty hose and nail glue to smelling salts and Tums, but the most commonly used item is SAFETY PINS!  Although you should have a needle and thread, I have resorted to using safety pins for fixing hems on tuxedos, bustling the brides gown, pinning broken bra straps and creating a veil or headpiece out of tulle when the bride’s was left at home.  Safety pins are great for a “quick fix.”

  • # 1 - LOUNGING ANYWHERE
Wonder what to do to a resort ballroom to make it more interesting and intimate?  You can create individual lounge areas by renting tents of sheer flowing fabric and adding sofas and coffee tables with lots of candlelight in them.  You’ve suddenly created that romantic lounge atmosphere in a standard ballroom and given it more intimacy.  Your guests can move to different “rooms” during the cocktails hour or or they can dance the night away.
